A Whole Lotta Woman
One of my very favourite screen people. She didn't take no shit. No wonder the movies with her and Robert Mitchum are so great. A whole lotta woman. RIP.

Farewell then, Captain
On hearing of the passing of Captain Beefheart, I naturally put Trout Mask Replica right on. It went nicely with the record I had playing in the other room. Farewell then, Captain, and thanks for the insanity

Music!
I must give a shout, to any who are listening, to two sites that have given me an immense amount of pleasure, and an immense amount of (rare) music over the last few weeks:

First, the Nuns Are On The Sea Wall, which any good Velvets geek will recognise. *Huge* amount of VU bootlegs, all in nice FLACS, and some pretty fantastic VU boardgames to boot. Thank you!

update: now by invitation only. sorry folks, we're all cut off
......

and then there's Excavated Shellac, on to which dear Mya kindly turned me. An extremely dedicated, knowledgeable and generous individual is digitising, cleaning up and making available his 78 collection of music from all around the world. And it is simply wonderful.
